Debut work by Beth Janvrin

It seems like I have been ill forever.

Writing has been my constant companion as I try to make sense of my situation.

I am a happy person, my life is full of love and serendipitous joy, but that doesn't change the fact that I am neverendingly exhausted and aching and worn right down.

I'm so sorry if you feel this way too.

I'm so sorry if someone you love feels this way too.

This is a little piece of me that may provide the words you've been looking for to describe the thing.

There Is Something I Need to Tell You by Beth Janvrin

Beth Janvrin lives in the country, south of Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, Ontario, with her husband, two cats - Jeeves and Bertie - many chickens and some turkeys that think they are dogs and want you to pet them. Sometimes they terrify the delivery people by crowding around them chirping for treats and pets.

Her husband bought her an easel at the beginning of Covid and she has been painting ever since.

The fields and particles associated with watercolor - pigment particles suspended in water fields (given mass by the Higgs field) fascinates her and has led to a more watery approach to acrylics. Chasing the fundamental building blocks of existence and their transmogrification into the many-splendored wonders surrounding us will be a forever endeavor.

Her first solo show entitled “Woman/Garden/Physics” highlighted these iterations in May 2023.

She has put pencil, or pen, to paper her whole life.

She also enjoys crocheting, knitting, sewing, stitching,  carding, spinning, natural dyeing, weaving … Basically any craft is fair game.

The property has room for a potager and rose garden which, both she and her husband, enjoy working in. She started a tall grass prairie in one section and is interested in establishing a food forest/hedgerow in another section to promote an enriching ecosystem for native pollinators and the entire associated food web.
