Somebody added goldfish to the pond, not teddy bears, or was it a dolly?

I read the book so long ago I can't even find it. Something about skeletons in the closet.

Tall, blond, striking blue eyes and the perilous existence of a clinical psychiatrist.

Imogen and Maisie were one of the chapters. One of the stories. Names have been changed.

But we're talking about Maisie now.

She should know better than to stick her face in the water to watch the goldfish.

Imogen told her it was the best way to see, but she knows Mummy doesn’t approve.

But they are so beautiful with their bloated, slick bodies sliding through the water effortlessly; their tails, like skirts, swirling behind them in their wake.

She wishes she could get in the pond with them, swimming like they do through the water; suspended, floating, untouched and unafraid.

Maybe she will.
